Thanks, I think. You’ve inadvertently hit on one of the golden rules of the familial relationship. People who are close for a long time (e.g., from birth, like you with respect to me) often don’t notice how important that closeness is to them and so they spend little effort to consider the feelings of, in your case, their “mother.”
